About Us

We chose our name from a line in the poem "True Worth" by Alice Carey.

True Worth

True worth is in being, not seeming;
In doing each day that goes by
Some little good; not in the dreaming
Of great things to do by and by.
For whatever men say in their blindness,
And in spite of the fancies of youth,
There's nothing so kingly as kindness,
And nothing so royal as truth.

This is our journey to be ... and not seem.

At Some Little Good (SLG) we desire to be authentic. We believe that the little things in life are often the most important, that the practical can be lovely, and that a heart full of thankfulness reveals beauty. Our goal is to bring beauty to the little things in life.

SLG is a family collaboration, currently featuring . . .

Jodi (mom) ~ I have a husband of 30 years, six children ranging from 26 to 7, one daughter-in-law, a devoted dog, and two disdainful cats. I had the great fortune of being taught by my mother as a child to cook, sew, knit, crochet, and embroider. My father is probably mostly responsible for my musical training; both my parents always encouraged artistic endeavors.  I have never known life without some creative outlet being part of it.

Brittany (2nd born, eldest daughter) ~ I love art.  Looking at beautiful pictures inspires me to draw and paint. Watercolor is my favorite medium.  I can't remember a time when I didn't draw and paint, but I began to pursue it seriously about 7 years ago. I also enjoy sewing . . . experimental sewing. Mom says I've never met a pattern I didn't want to change! I view embroidery as painting with thread. I learned to embroider 13 years ago.

Bridget (3rd born, middle daughter) ~ I adore cats! Most of my artwork features them in some little way ... all my fellow cat lovers will know exactly what I mean! :) I love to draw; my primary medium is high quality colored pencils. I enjoy creative paper art and felt work. I make banners and bookmarks. I'm currently in the midst of embroidering a set of butterfly quilt blocks . . . it's one of those massive projects that I hope to finish before I get married or turn 40 ... whichever comes first! I'll keep you posted . . . don't expect to see it anytime soon!

We love books, mysteries, old movies, all things vintage, tea, coffee, frappes (a daily dose please!), and chocolate. We thrive on being together as a family.

The foundation of our life is our love and devotion to Jesus. He is our Lord and Savior and has blessed us beyond measure.

Thank you for taking some of your precious time and sharing it with us!
